The High Road has it's own special type of obstacles

In life as it is in business, very often the well trodden path is the route to success for the majority of us.

Obstacles in the way of progress have already been identified and our journey accurately mapped out.

We all experience life's challenges differently
, but the 'essence' of our encounters are very similar to one another's. This has to be true. Or we wouldn't witness quite so many business and life coaches who are capable of advising us on our future plans.

Being the individuals that we are, charting our own course in business is also an extension of how we like to think in life too. Once our confidence is strong enough - we will want [need] to flex our personality and make decisions which we feel to be our own.

Unfortunately, when we chose to take a different road to the majority, not only do we have new obstacles to negotiate, we will also appear to be heading in a different direction to most. In some instances, we will feel that the masses are attempting to deliberately put us off our stride... change is scary.

"Our wretched species is so made that those who walk on the well-trodden path always throw stones at those who are showing a new road." Voltaire. The Whole Truth.

The truth is that we are all headed in the same direction. Even though some of us chose to run a slightly different path. This path may well be longer, or it could be shorter but steeper - one thing we can be sure of is that there will be more obstacles for us to deal with. Or we would all be on the well trodden path, wouldn't we?

Don't let the promise of new challenges put you off. From your unique vantage point, those challenges have a completely different look and feel, and the continuous leaping over of higher and HIGHER hurdles will prepare you for the road ahead.

  1. Corporate coaching isn't just about training people to do certain things; it is also about motivating and inspiring them to reach their goals. A good business coach can give a lot of examples and instances that can invigorate your team players to chase targets in a better manner, and also think of new ideas.
